TRIVIA: HOW DID AFRICA GET ITS NAME????
ANSWER
The answers below refer to Phoenician, Greek and Roman sources on the subject. From earliest Egyptian sources, officially dated at circa 2500 BC, Kh-afre, fourth king of the 4th dynasty reveals that an early Egyptian king had the name "Africa". That is because modern Egyptologists and others often mix the order of the hieroglyphs that the ancients wrote. Thus Kh-Afre is Afre-Kh or Africa.The ancient Jewish records are supposedly silent on "Africa" but that is because the Hebrew name for the continent, "Auphirah" is usually written "Ophir". In I Kings 9:28, we read that the sailors of Solomon of Israel and Hiram of Tyre went to "Ophir-Auphirah". Then in the next verse, I Kings 10:1, we read that the Queen who "ruled" or "administered" [Hebrew sheb (Shin, Beit, Aleph)] Ophirah-Africa, came to visit Solomon and probably put in a courtesy call to Hiram of Tyre as well (circa 950 BC). Only one queen ruled Egypt, Nubia, Sudan and Ethiopia of those days and her name is Hat-Sheba-Sut or Hatshepsut. Her temple at Deir el-Bahari evokes the words of Song of Solomon "Oh my dove, you are in the clefts of the rock in the secret places of the stairs". She was the great African Queen after whom even river boats and Hollywood films are named.
However, this analysis depends on accepting that Egyptian chronology is wrong by 600 years and that all the dynasties of ancient Egypt are misaligned with other countries' histories by error factors of 600 years on average. That's why there are so many mysteries over what really is quite a simple answer. To see how complex answers otherwise become, read those below. The complexity in what surely should be a simple question-answer is revealed by the excellent research shown below. But the real situation - assuming the chronological problems/solutions noted above are in fact so - is surely much simpler and more obvious.
Also, the name Afre-Kh or Kh-Afre, noted above, probably simply means the "Kh of Ophir" or perhaps "Spirit of Africa".
One of the answers below explains that "Punt" is East Africa. Today, the British supported government of North Somalia is named "Puntland" on some maps. However, Amenhotep III said "When I look to the sunrise, I come to the countries of Punt". One Egyptian poet likened holding a girl in one's arms to be in "Punt". Somalia and East Africa were never such wonderful places. But Israel in the Days of Solomon was. Thus Hatshepsut's extensive report of her journey to "Punt" obviously refers to Sheba's visit to Jerusalem in 950 BC. However, Jerusalem in the soon to come Messianic Kingdom which many Sudanese already believe exists in modern Israel will make Solomon's Jerusalem pale in comparison. Jesus said "Hatshepsut-Queen of the South" would rise up at the resurrection and judge the leaders of Israel who rejected Jesus of Nazareth. This little aside shows that distorted history has been used to prevent people knowing what's in store for them if they believe and worship the true God (and what's in store for them if they do not). There is a good reason why the authorities do not want people to know the origin of the word (name) "Africa" because its great queen (Hatshepsut-Sheba) rejected her pagan gods and turned (repented) to the God of Solomon and the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob of Israel.
In summary, the oldest sources for the name "Africa" come from the Bible (Ophir) and Egyptian records (Kh-Afre or Afre-Kh). Attempts below by the linguistic community to derive the origins of the name "Africa" get swamped by borrowed traditions from the Biblical source and by loan-words that migrated through various languages after the Tower of Babel (circa 2200 BC).
It is now virtually impossible to tell which language borrowed from another or which language 'lent' a word to another via trade, assimilation, culture-swapping etc. However, certain things dominate no matter what. The ancient Egyptians had difficulty distinguishing between 'b' and 'p' in speech. Today, an Egyptian still says "Egypt is very boor". Generation after generation of invaders, while they may have changed much of the face of Egypt they could not prevent their children imitating the speech of the indigenous culture.

The name Africa came into Western use through the Romans, who used the name Africa terra � "land of the Afri" (plural, or "Afer" singular) � for the northern part of the continent, as the province of Africa with its capital Carthage, corresponding to modern-day Tunisia.
The origin of Afer may either come from:
- the Phoenician `afar, dust;
- the Afri, a tribe � possibly Berber � who dwelt in North Africa in the Carthage area;
- the Greek word aphrike, meaning without cold (see also List of traditional Greek place names);
- or the Latin word aprica, meaning sunny.
The historian Leo Africanus (1495-1554) attributed the origin to the Greek word phrike (?????, meaning 'cold and horror'), combined with the negating prefix a-, so meaning a land free of cold and horror. However, the change of sound from pH to f in Greek is datable to about the first century, so this cannot really be the origin of the name.
Egypt was considered part of Asia by the ancients, and first assigned to Africa by the geographer Ptolemy (85 - 165 AD), who accepted Alexandria as Prime Meridian and made the isthmus of Suez and the Red Sea the boundary between Asia and Africa. As Europeans came to understand the real extent of the continent, the idea of Africa expanded with their knowledge.

Osama Bin Laden and the 2012 Presidential Election
In My Opinion the whole business of reveling to the American people that Osama Bin Laden was dead was to help prepare the nation for the 2012 Presidential Election in favor of our current president. In past blogs and tweets I stated that I believed that our current President Barack Obama would win the next term and continue as President for yet 4 more years. I also stated that I did not believe that Miss Sarah Palin would have a chance at the presidency. I had always believed that she was being used as a pawn in the early years of President Obama's first 100 days and beyond.
What I have learned over the years by observing my government and their media tactics, is have skillful and crafty they are at controlling the mental attention of the American people. by offering our nation and the world, for that matter a continued diet of bread and circuses. The U.S. Government and U.S. media operate as a smooth deception circuit, continually deceiving the American people about everything from clean air to terrorism. Our government cannot be trusted, our politicians cannot be trusted, our leadership cannot be trusted and most definitely THE MEDIA CANNOT BE TRUSTED. These beings, and I say being, because I'm not fully sure that they are people like you or I, nor am I convinced that they originate from the seed of Adam, but must be the seed of the Serpent, (who was a liar from the beginning of creation). Right now the Republican party is systematically disqualifying all would be candidates of the next presidential race, taking true competition out of the hands of candidates and taking away confidence from the hearts of the people for true and fair elections in this country. Further, the puppet masters have also taken away the validity and strength of our Constitution leaving us without a cover.
All of the things that Americans are experiencing in the economy today has been by design and carefully planned over at least, if not more than 60 years. This is the new world order folks and it is is going to get even more strange and out of focus for the holders to the constitution. But there is a very strong biblical reason for this. contrary to what most people would like to believe, American is modern day Babylon. The holy scriptures have already foretold her end and destruction in the book of Revelations chapters 14:8 and 18:2. So if you are a student of Torah or a lover of bible prophecy you will quickly recognize the signs of the times. Babylon the Great is fallen, fallen, fallen.
One more note every great historical nation that fully embraced homosexuality also fell without recovery. I understand that homosexuality has always existed, but nations who remained strong in their policies and did not focus on giving special privileges to this practice stood far longer in history than the nations that accepted and glorified the practice. So take heed America you have already crossed the threshold of Idolatry, fornication, and uncleanness and the handwriting is on the wall. not because of your president, but because of your un-repentant sins as a nation. and No, G-d will not bless America, no matter how many times you sing the song.

Haiti, Fallen Prey to A New World Order
I’ve been tweeting about the crises in Haiti for the past week. I’m very disappointed with the way the World Leadership Community (i.e. UN) has handled the whole matter. First, the United Nations decided that this would be their area of concern. Next they sent in “peacekeeping troops” who in my opinion secured the boarders to keep out “true sincere helpers” from around the world.
Then, the United States President agreed to send in the U.S. Marines to help with the peacekeeping efforts (i.e. to keep more people out and keep.) Within the same timeline, we see that several days have passed and the only real news we have about the conditions in Haiti is coming from the survivors on the streets of Port-au-Prince using technology to “tweet” the message of the damage, devastation, rescues, and cries for relief. This brought a sense of hope that good people will do good things to help.
The good citizens of the world respond quickly with huge donations and fund raising events, wishing to send blankets, clothing, food and water. But our former US President George W. Bush makes a public speech telling people to “just send your money” and inside of 1 calendar week, millions, if not trillions of dollars are raised by ordinary citizens, celebrities, and people of goodwill who care about their fellow man.
In this short time over 50,000 Haitians would lose their lives to simple lack of relief, infections, broken bones and severe trauma. While the developed highly technical power brokers of the world delay the aid and money needed to save those people. Then, just a few days later we see footage on CNN that professional doctors from Belgian who had arrived early on after the crises were removed by UN military force while in the midst of treating patients in temporary makeshift clinics out side the capitol city leaving I.V.s hanging from the trees.
This was very strange behavior from the UN peacekeepers, why were the doctors and nurses removed?? Dr Sanjay Gupta the Emmy®-award winning chief medical correspondent for the Health, Medical & Wellness unit at CNN and one of the physicians who refused to leave stayed behind and witnessed horror while he watches helplessly and powerless without proper medical supplies to treat the wounded, and within another few days 60,000 more Haitians lose their lives to simple infections, broken bones, severe trauma, and road blocks from a cruel bureaucracy with orders from the United Nations to not let any medical workers or aid relief workers into the most severely damaged areas.
While reporting on the news that Millions of pounds of food and water are lined up at the border with armed guards, refusing to let the hungry traumatized and suffering People through the barricade. The entire world is watching while aide is still not given to the Haitian people. Then we heard about the continued streams of money pouring into well known organizations like doctors without borders who were not allowed to land their plan and assist the injured, and suffering citizens of Haiti on order of the United Nations.
We heard ignorant sermons, from well know ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ say things to directly imply that the Haitians deserved this destruction because their ancestors made a pact with Satan, the devil, the dragon, and Archangel of evil hundreds of years ago. I wonder if any of those well meaning ministers ever went to Haiti to spread that great love of God that they preach to well behaved, censored, enthusiastic, music loving rock-n-roll, hip-hop American Christians who become easily offended by helping their fellow man more once, while all along singing “Jesus loves ME this I know, for the bible tells me so”…and thanking God on Sunday morning for forgiving THEM of all their sins. So, where those ministers saying to their congregations and to the world that God could not forgive the Haitians for their ancestral sins??? Or what about all those Haitians that lost their homes, but not their lives who believe in the 1 true God, who are still in Haiti with limited resources, no housing, but have hope and prayers in a God who was faithful to them by sparing their lives? Are they not believers? Doesn’t Jesus love them too? Didn’t Jesus love the people who died? Does the bible say that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son…? Then what was the nonsense that was preached on the wake of the disaster?? Bush., or is this, what was meant when former U.S. President George W. Bush said “we are going to get rid of the axis of evil”? Was Haiti more evil than Germany before, during, and after the holocaust? Was Haiti more evil than China during the Tiananmen Square incident on its own students? Was Haiti more evil than any other nations since the beginning of time?
The delay in the response to help the Haitians on the ground and the road blocks from central command at the UN speaks to me of a setup, a plot, and a plan for this very destruction. I no longer believe this to be just a random earthquake or a natural occurrence. 10 years ago the world’s scientists were studying the fault lines of Haiti. This, in my opinion, was a planned attack on an unsuspecting people, for nation building and land grabbing. With all of our modern missile technology and super smart weapons of mass destruction, it’s not very hard to put the pieces together; it will look line a natural disaster, someone said.
I believe that the United Nations planned this attack on the Haitian people and caused this earthquake to power broker the nation out of the hands of its citizens and whip them into shape for the emergence of a new Haiti that will finally take its place in the “New World Order”. In 10 days the rainy season starts in Haiti, all those who were not killed in the earthquake, died of treatable infections, broken bones crushed organs and trauma, all treatable by modern medical practices. All those who are still alive today will not be able to survive the rainy season without proper shelter; they will succumb to common colds, flu, fevers and preventable diseases that the richer developed nations go into pharmacies to get relief from. All the millions and billions being raised now, will only go to rebuild Haiti as a super beautiful tourist attraction with no one to dispute the land rights because the World Leadership Community killed them all through strategic attack, neglect, road blocks, withholding of needed resource, starvation, and lack of help-But let this be a warning to all those who are profiting right now on the suffering, destruction and murder of this people. The God who created the heavens and the earth is watching and the holy angles are recording all these events and will assign to every man his portion. The meek will inherit the earth. The wicked will not stand in the judgment or sinners in the congregation of the righteous. Very soon the Messiah will come and He will bring the proper judgment to everyone for their deeds done on the earth and from His hand, no one can save.

Staying motivated is the way to becoming successful
When everything is going against you, that is the time to work harder at staying motivated! You've probably heard the old saying about the glass, you can see it as half full, lor you can see it as half empty. Its really up to you to decide.
That is how all of life operates, through your personal perception of things around you. You can choose to see your opportunities as a chance to improve on what you have and what you know, or see them as road blocks and obstacles that lead to failures. If you choose to stay motivated you will always see the positive side of life and you will try harder to make things happen, this my friend will lead to succcess and fulfillment.

Bill Clinton Saves the Day
I was really touched to hear the new about the release of Laura and Euna back to the United States. Our former President Bill Clinton did a wonderful act by negotiating their release! Good job Pres. Bill Clinton and welcome home Laura and Enua!

Good Care Begins Early
Of the estimated 34 million Americans who are caring for older family members, more than half provide 40 or more hours of care per week.1
Unfortunately, caring for an aging family member can take a serious toll on the caregiver’s life, health, and financial future. People who put themselves in physical, emotional, and/or financial peril to care for an aging parent may do so because they were uncomfortable about exploring all the options, possibly out of fear of appearing disloyal or intruding on their parents’ privacy.
A financial professional can help open a dialogue about the family’s caregiving needs that helps preserve dignity and harmony while also coordinating decisions about common concerns such as which care options are appropriate, whether the parents should move, how to manage their property and possessions, how to handle legacy issues, and more.

Whether you are an aging parent or the child of an aging parent, it might help to understand the risks of doing nothing.
Caregivers have higher divorce rates and life expectancies that are, on average, 10 years shorter than those of their counterparts who do not care for aging family members.2
An estimated one in four caregivers has either quit or been fired from a job because of the demands associated with caring for a family member.3 Thirty-four percent of caregivers spend $3,600 or more out of pocket every year on caregiving.4 The loss of these funds could affect the caregivers’ own retirement goals or the ability to pay for their children’s education.
Despite these unfavorable side-effects to caregiving, 63% of caregivers still do not have a plan to pay for the cost of caring for their aging parents.5
Aging parents might be reluctant to talk about whether they need care because they fear a loss of control or because they don’t want to become a burden to their children. Ironically, people who avoid important discussions because they don’t want to be a burden are sowing seeds for even greater troubles because they are forestalling preparation and ignoring the risks associated with aging, possibly until it’s too late.
